Ok Seriously
Seriously people! First the background. It snowed in Seattle two evenings ago. Which is rare. What’s even more rare that since it has snowed the temperature hasn’t gotten above freezing as a result the dusting (and I emphasize dusting) snow is still on the ground. The roads, however, are totally fine. A bit wet perhaps. But there is no snow in the driving lanes. No ice in the driving lanes. In other words driving conditions are just fine and dandy. Yet, for some reason drivers around here still drive like fifteen year-old kid on her first driving experiences. Seriously there is absolutely no reason why in these conditions that you should be driving 45 on and INTERSTATE HIGHWAY!!! Do people have some degenerate gene in their body that when in the vicinity of snow all thought and reason go out the window replaced only with fear. Fear that they may drive over a singular snowflake causing them to violently spin out and die. No people! The roads are fine! The snow is not on the road and therefore you won’t have any difficulty driving near (yes, near not on or over but near) the snow. Geeez.
‘Tis a sad fact: People are retarded. Yes, there are brilliant individuals in life, but in general, the human race is retarded. People try to be too safe when the weather conditions are different than those they are used to. This is actually bad because when some people are too safe, it makes the roadways dangerous and probably results in more accidents.
Maybe you should just get a big vehicle (in addition) for those snowy days and just go the speed you want to go. It will only take a few times of you pushing your way through traffic for people to figure that one out. Funny about the weather though…I think we got your Seattle weather here and you have ours. You can have your rain back any day.

People just don’t think. People are too easily ruled by fear (see the weather driving and terrorism). But I agree that the people the freak out and try to be overly safe, they are in reality more dangerous on the road.
